Click on an image to see a larger version. Kim Rust I make collages out of glass, paper, found objects, and ceramic materials. Mosaic application gives me the opportunity to combine my sculptural interests and love of texture and color. My themes are centered on color, pattern, and images from nature. Each mosaic piece takes approximately 15 steps. I find inspiration in the material I use, be it a twig polished smooth by water or the brilliance of melted wax under glass. I am constantly collecting objects to include in my collage mosaics. I use natural materials gathered from the high desert of the Winnemucca, NV area, and the riverbanks of the Payette in Idaho. Currently my work is showing at: Wild Women:Benedict Church Durham Ericson Hansen Jordan Knous Orr Prodaniuk Rappa Teske Wallis
