The Wild Women work in a variety of media, live in diverse landscapes, pursue individual goals, but come together as artists to mount two group shows each year...one in Reno, and one in Elko. Shown on the Elko invitation, above, are works by (top to bottom, left to right) Claudia Knous, hand felted sculpture and apparel; Susan Church, metal sculpture; guest Ron Arthaud, oil paintings; Barbara Glynn Prodaniuk, clay sculpture and functional objects; Jimmie Benedict, quilted, pieced and embroidered clothing; Barbara Uriu, jewelry; Kristen Frantzen Orr, handmade glass beads; Gretchen Ericson, basketry; Pat Wallis, paintings; Kathleen Durham, "Underwood" sculptures and stories; and Gail Rappa, jewelry. Sidne Teske will have paintings in the gallery portion of the show. Our collaborative art project this year is called “heART shelter” and features removable books made by Barbara Glynn Prodaniuk, Chris Hansen, Claudia Knous, Gail Rappa, Gretchen Ericsen, Jimmie Benedict, Kathleen Durham, Kristen Frantzen Orr, Pat Wallis, and Sidne Teske. The actual "heART Shelter" piece will be on display at the Wilbur May Gallery in Reno, September 5th through November 9th, 2008, and at Duncan LittleCreek Gallery in Elko, January 9th through January 31st, 2009.
