Hi all from Redstone, Colorado. I do so miss being around all you wonderful Wild Women. It is hard to believe that we have been gone 3 years. I am becoming a part of the community here in the gorgeous place that we live. I think because the village is small and remote, the people here try to be inclusive. Ron and I are both active in community organizations. I am on the Homeowners board or our neighborhood and the president of the Redstone Arts Foundation. The foundation puts on a small show in town over the Labor Day weekend. I participated last year.
Ron’s brother died last year and left us his dog, Mandy. She has been a joy and a trial, having had many upsets in her life. She is finally adjusting to life with us after a year. She has loved the hiking and skiing. I would never have thought I would be spending time making dog costumes, but I did for our recent Winterfest celebration. My creative pursuits have included some sewing, where I am trying to find ways to use up the hundreds of yards of fabric strips I have cut up over the years. Even Mandy’s “costume” was out of the strip boxes. When I did the show last fall, I prided myself on not spending a penny on new fabric, just using what is piled up here in the studio. I do have a lovely studio and spend many happy hours there. I am doing more knitting…we have a small knitting group here in Redstone. We also have a book club and an exercise class, all comprised of the same 10-20 women. Life is Good.
