It’s pretty quiet right now at Underwood. But it feels like the quiet before the storm. After their successful Quest for the Giant Squid, the Underfolk and the Undermice are planning something really big. They have maps and compasses and atlases all over the place, and they are asking the Professor a lot of questions. I have heard them mention a place called Mauritius and also the town of Oxford, in England. It would seem impossible for them to get to such faraway places, but we all remember when Fred Mouse and a few of the Underfolk made it to Egypt! So anything is possible, and it makes me pretty nervous. The Undersinkers are not going on the Quest because they don’t want their daughter Nosalie Marie to miss school. They got together recently for a family portrait by Susan Mantle. I’ve enclosed a picture of them. Left to right they are: Mama Windex with baby Comet, Papa Drano, Nosalie Marie, Gramma Brillo, Uncle Lysol and Grampa Pete Trap. They are posed with their finest dish rag which they keep close to remember when they actually lived under the sink.
